7th International Forum "Russian Oil, Gas and Energy", April 10-12, 2007, St.Petersburg, Russia

The issues concerning the fuel and energy sector were discussed at the Forum

The 7th Russian Oil, Gas and Energy Forum took place in St-Petersburg State Mining Institute on 10-12 April.

The following people took part in the Plenary Session: V.P. Orlov (Committee of the Federal Council for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection), S.I. Fedorov (Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, State Policy and Regulation Department), Y.V. Lukyanov (Acting Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District), V.S. Litvinenko (Mining Institute), N.A. Gafarov (Gazprom), A.B. Zolotukhin (Statoil), Tom Carney (Petro-Canada).

Main subject of the press-conference held on April, 10 concerned state policy-making in the fuel and energy sector. The following people answered journalists' questions regarding prospects of industry development and making amendments to legislation, namely: V.P. Orlov, Council of Federation Committee on Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Chairman; V.V. Smolin, Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, Deputy Head; S.I. Fedorov, Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, Director of the State Policy and Regulation Department.

On 11-12 April participants of the scientific conferences held within the framework of the Forum discussed in detail such important issues of the sector as investments and innovations in fuel and energy complex; problems concerning transport of hydrocarbons and ecology of shorelands; new approaches to processing of hydrocarbon materials. Round table discussions will be dedicated to the domestic and foreign markets of gas in Russia; prospects of the development of the nuclear power industry.

This year more than 500 delegates from at least 150 companies of Russia, Germany, Norway, Poland, Great Britain, Vietnam, and Ukraine have taken part in the Forum.

Specialized exhibitions, namely "Neftegasexpo", "Oil Refining and Petrochemical Industry", "Auto Filling Complex", "Atom-TEK" were held within the frameworks of the Forum. They are traditionally carried out within the framework of the Russian Oil, Gas and Energy Forum.

The Russian Oil, Gas and Energy Forum is held with the support of Committee of the Federal Council for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
